The New Year can be a bit cliche with bountiful resolutions of "New Year, New You". However, there is some merit in making resolutions. After all, there is no time like the present. When it comes to skin care, now is certainly better than never and a New Year does satisfy a sense of a fresh start.
As you look to make changes to your skin care routine in 2020, the important thing to remember the famous quote by Carl Jung that says it's "...what you do, not what you say you'll do." that is important. Develop a simple routine that you can stick to.
A 2009 study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology concluded that it takes, on average, 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic. Do you take your make-up off every night before bed? Make that a part of your new routine each night and pair it with a habit you may already have. For example, if you already put your hair up before bed, put your favorite face wash near your hair ties. If you're regimented in showering daily, put your face wash in the shower with you.
It can be difficult to establish a habit without clear direction as well. Do your research or even better, talk with a professional to determine what the best skin care routine is for your skin. There are so many myths out there, and there are a myriad of products touting to be the best. However, there is only one you and only one skin you're in. Plus, you're more likely to stick to a routine you see working and making a difference in your skin's health.
You can do it. While that may sound cliche as well, it's true. Skin care doesn't have to be difficult. With the right knowledge and habits you'll be glowing in no time!
To your skin's health,
